About Us

Joe's Bakery is a fictional bakery created for my Web Publishing Technology class. Founded in November of 2024, Joe's Bakery has brought joy to tens of thousands of non-exist people. Since it's founding, 3 other fictious locations have opened! We are proud to deliver the best possible baked goods to anyone who desires them.

Joe's Bakery's logo was designed hastily in Adobe Illustrator in December 2024. We are proud of our quickly assembled logo, as we feel it reflects the values of our bakery. We believe all baked goods should be made hastily and right before their due date, not necessarily to their best possible standard but to the standard of a sleep-deprived student who thought it would be fun to add something extra! Procrastinating until the last possible minute is how true geniuses are born, and writing html at 11:00 at night is how creativity reaches it's peak.

The footer is a great element on our website, which we have managed to keep in place by utilizing the position: fixed and bottom: 0px declarations. This means our footer stays at the bottom of the page no matter how far you scroll, which we, as a bakery, think is pretty cool! We have also implemented this in our header, which you will not see until you scroll further down. The header also used the position: fixed declaration, but uses top: 0px instead of bottom: 0px. Because of the fixed property, the margin of the main content (which is the section you're reading now) had to be adjusted to the respective heights set for the header and footer so it doesn't cover anything up.    

Our bakery is founded on the dreams of making the About Us page long enough to utilize a "Back to Top Button", as is needed in the rubric of this assignment. In time, anyone can ramble on long enough to add a scroll bar to their page! This is what years of writing multiple page essays at Eastern Michigan University have lead up to. Every student at Joe's Bakery has the ability to write long enough "About Us" sections to have as many buttons as their hearts desire.

Each page of Joe's Bakery's website includes a link in the footer to Eastern Michigan's website, mostly because this project requires an absolute link but also because we wanted a footer and had nothing to put in it. This footer also assists us in the ability to reach our goal of adding our aforementioned "Back to Top Button" by taking up slightly more room on the page. We are hoping that this is the last paragraph required to reach the button, but only the user (you) and God himself can be privy to that information until I refresh the webpage again.
